The upstairs exhibition space became a winter wonderland. It told the history of the snow glider and kicksled and featured collages of exhibits, a hill for sledges and snow gliders, a miniature ski jumping hill and different winter sports games.

‘Mäkimatti’ is a miniature ski jumper with skis made of iron. The exhibition featured a plastic ski jumping hill for the Mäkimatti figures to compete on.  The Ski Museum also provided instructions for making a snow glider. The exhibits included sledges, hockey sticks, pucks and woolly hats from different decades.

Snowy childhood: the interactive exhibition for small children was received enthusiastically by families, day care centres and schools. The exhibition offered many fun ideas for playing in the snow, from building snow castles to making snow angels under a starry sky. There was also a snow theatre in a fairy tale world. Children could dress up as a snow king, an ice queen or a forest animal.
