In celebration of the City of Lahti’s 100th anniversary in 2005, the Ski Museum arranged an exhibition called Lovers’ Trail – Young Couples at Salpausselkä.  The Lover’s Trail, an illuminated and very romantic ski track opened in 1934, was popular among the young. In later years, young people met each other at dances and discos arranged during Lahti Ski Games.

The exhibition also addressed the theme of love relationships between competition skiers that had led to marriage. Spectators of skiing competitions have been very interested in skiers’ romances with a happy end.

The exhibition opened on 21 January 2005. It was arranged in collaboration with the Lahti City Theatre, which featured a play titled Lovers’ Trail. The play was set in the Lahti Ski Games in 1955.
